EHG4537 - DBA and Walkover Survey - Achranich Hydro Scheme, Ardtornish Estate, Morvern

Nine archaeological sites were recorded in a desk-based and walkover survey at Achranich, Ardtornish Estate, Morvern, Lochaber, Highland. Most were buildings and enclosures associated with the farming and estate activities of Ardtornish Estate in the 19th and early 20th centuries. These include the 1851 Smith’s Barn and Byre, Site 6, the Highland Byre, Site 2, and a stack yard, Site 3, as well as Storage Sheds, Carpenter’s Shop, Saw Mill, Wood Shed, Sites 4, 5, 7 and 9 respectively, and remains of an old hydro power scheme, Site 8. The remaining site is a road bridge, Site 1. <1>
