Date
April 2014
Description
A targeted walkover survey of the Inner Study Area and its immediate vicinity was carried out by two achaeologists on 7th to 9th April 2014. This consisted of a comprehensive assessment of the character, location and condition of all known heritage assets, and an ide3ntification of any previously unknown assets. Additional surveys of designated or undesignated heritage assets were conducted where appropriate to assess the impact of development on their character or setting. These surveys were guided by modern mapping and a handheld GPS (geographic positioning system). The intention of these walkovers was to assess the presence or absence, character, extent and condition of known assets and to identify any previously unrecorded assets. Conditions were mixed during the walkover surveys on the 7th and 8th with continuous rain on the 9th. <1>
