EHG4860 - Walkover Survey - Coulags Hydro, Strathcarron, Highland

An archaeological walk-over survey and desk based assessment was undertaken to fulfil a planning requirement for construction of a hydro-electric scheme at Coulags, StrathCarron, Highland. 6 Archaeological features were identified and recorded in the areas of the scheme. These include the footings of a structure, a pond, dykes, a sheepfold and a footbridge. Many of these will not be affected by the scheme, and micro-siting is recommended to avoid features whereever possible. Where features cannot be avoided watching briefs are recommended in order to record sections of disturbed features. <1>
