Description

Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd undertook a watching brief on excavations and soil stripping works associated with a housing development at Hedgefield House, Inverness. The monitoring was undertaken in order to identify and record any archaeological remains that might be exposed during the works. The work was commissioned by Tulloch Homes Ltd, and a specification was agreed with the Highland Council Historic Environment Team. A large area topsoil strip and an area of road widening were monitored as part of the redevelopment. A single 19th to 20th century rubbish pit was noted during the course of these works. No other archaeological features were identified. <1>
