Description

A metal-detecting survey (MDS) of land near Stablehollow was required in advance of the erection of an agricultural building. The site lies within the designated area of Culloden battlefield. A total of 32 items of metalwork were retained for further analysis; the majority of which were associated with modern agricultural activity. The most significant item recovered was a fragment of powder measure, likely to be related to the 1746 battle of Culloden. <1>
