EHG5168 - Watching Brief - Balblair Quarry, Wester Balblair, Beauly

An archaeological watching brief was carried out by AOC Archaeology Group in 2017 at Balblair Quarry, Wester Balblair, Beauly, for the extension of the quarry into the Phase 1c area. No subsurface archaeological features were identified and the heavy disturbance by tree stumps and roots may have affected visibility and preservation conditions. Some fragments of 19th /20th century glass and pottery were recovered from the topsoil in the area and probably relate to historic settlements nearby. <1>
