Description

An archaeological evaluation carried out at Scaniport, Inverness, in advance of the construction of five new houses and associated infrastructure. The evaluation was required due to the presence of known archaeological sites within the immediate area. Fieldwork was carried out over two days on the 16th and 17th of January 2018. Nine trenches were excavated across the site sampling an area totalling 772m2 . Four shallow possible pit features were recorded during the evaluation; one containing a possible flint tool. A watching brief on further ground breaking work is therefore recommended to identify any further features. <1>
