Technique(s)
Organisation

Date
Nov-Dec 2012
Description
Forestry Commission Scotland commissioned the Orkney Research Centre for Archaeology (ORCA) to undertake an archaeological desk-based assessment, walkover survey, geophysical survey and excavation of the Loch Arienas kerb cairn site and environs, Morvern, Highland. Results of the geophysical survey (earth resistance and magnetometer) undertaken in the area around the kerb cairn indicated several potential archaeological features, however a series of test pits (B-E) demonstrated that these were derived from natural geology. <1>
