EHG5209 - Watching Brief - Telecoms Mast 170m SW of Hawthorn Cottage, Uiginish, Dunvegan, Isle of Skye

A watching brief undertaken at the site of a new telecommunications mast and access track on land 170m southwest of Hawthorn Cottage at Uiginish, Dunvegan, Isle of Skye. The watching brief was required due to the location of the development site within an area with the potential for buried archaeology to be present. The watching brief was carried out in October 2017 and identified no buried archaeological remains or artefacts. A boundary dyke compromised by the access track to the mast base was recorded. A rapid survey in the immediate environs recorded a dun, shieling and lazybeds. <1>
