Technique(s)

Organisation

West Coast Archaeological Services

Date

March 2017

Description

An archaeological watching brief and rapid walkover survey was carried out on behalf of Scottish Water in respect to the placement of two new water mains sections (pipeline 1 and pipeline 2, Figure 1) west of Kiltarlity, Inverness-shire, (CHG7685). This development will replace the old existing water mains, joining onto existing mains in places. The requirement came in after some of the work had already been conducted on pipeline 1 without archaeological monitoring. This section was walked over by the archaeologist to try and identify any archaeological remains in the backfilled trench before carrying out the watching brief at pipeline 2. <1>
