EHG5284 - Walkover survey - Reconductoring of the OHL between Tomatin and Boat of Garten
Technique(s)
Organisation
AOC Archaeology Group
Date
Oct 2018
Description
A walkover survey was carried out by AOC Archaeology in Oct 2018 along the route of the overhead line reconductoring between Tomatin and Boat of Garten. The survey was required due to the location of the development site within an area considered to have the potential for unrecorded historic environment features to be present. A total of 47 archaeological sites were recorded including the ruins of post-medieval farmsteads and ancillary structures, prehistoric hut circles and field systems and a medieval motte site. A programme of mitigation is likely to be required depending upon the scope of the development works, which is still to be confirmed. Initial recommendations for this work were made. <1>
