Description

A programme of archaeological evaluation by Trial Trenching was commissioned by Barns Highland in advance of the development of a caravan site including laying of services and installation of temporary buildings. The Trial Trenching was designed to evaluate and characterise the potential for buried archaeological remains and to meet planning condition 1, 18/01234/FUL. Six trenches were opened which totalled an area of 256sqm. These were of various sizes and orientations but positioned to reflect the area actually intended for development.
