Description
Between January and March 2018 archaeological conservation of Caisteal Grugaig broch, Totaig (NGR: NG 8669 2508) was undertaken by AOC Archaeology Group on behalf of Forestry Commission Scotland. The project involved the consolidation of displaced stones within the walls and on the wall head, the stabilisation of weakened load bearing elements such as lintels spanning passageways. This was undertaken by stonemasons monitored and recorded by an archaeologist. The recording comprises a before and after conservation laser scan survey. The survey was undertaken using a Trimble TX5 laser scanner, and a detailed descriptive report and photographic record compiled. <1>
