An archaeological excavation was undertaken at Geiselittle, near Thurso, Caithness on behalf of Balfour Beatty Regional Civil Engineering Ltd. ahead of construction works on a new 275/132/33 kV electrical substation and associated infrastructure. The work was carried out by Northlight Heritage between 15th June and 8th July 2015 and focussed on the site of a potential prehistoric cairn noted during previous evaluation work. No archaeological structures or features were found, although a small assemblage of flints were recovered from the topsoil over a large portion of the site. <1>
