Description

An archaeological evaluation carried at Auchindarroch Farm, Duror, Appin, in relation to the construction of a new dwelling house. The evaluation was required as part of a planning requirement as the site is situated within an area of known archaeology. Fieldwork was carried out on 16th August 2018. Eight trenches were excavated across the site. No archaeological features were observed and in general ground conditions were poor with deep deposits of peat. On possible archaeological site, a mound surveyed in the 1990s, was investigated and shown to be a natural feature. No further archaeological work is recommended on the site. <1>
