Description
A watching brief was maintained by AOC Archaeology Group during the excavation of geotechnical site investigation trial pits on the site of a proposed retail development at Eastgate, Invernesss in 1999. A total of 22 pits were monitored. These were, in general, informative as to the depth of made ground, which was greater than had been anticipated and general site conditions to be anticipated by the archaeological evaluation that was to follow (see EHG167). <1>
