EHG5336 - Walkover Survey - Stronelairg Wind Farm, Fort Augustus
Technique(s)
Organisation
CFA Archaeology Ltd
Date
May 2017
Description
A walkover survey was carried out by CFA Archaeology in 2017 of key locations identified as supporting features of cultural
heritage interest identified during a walkover survey by C Dagg in 2011 and included within the Environmental Statement for the proposed Stronelairg Wind Farm (see EHG4606). The survey was carried out to provide guidance in relation to mitigation requirements such as erecting temporary fences if required around the sites of cultural heritage interest, prior to construction commencement. The objectives of the study were: to survey the limits of the previously identified sites; to identify any potential conflicts with the proposed wind farm layout and to provide recommendations for further mitigation measures for these conflicts. The walkover survey only visited those sites identified in the ES chapter (sites 1-7) and was not a blanket walkover of other parts of the site. No further measures were recommended and this survey forms an adequate record of the features. <1>
