Date

Aug 2016

Description

A cultural heritage desk based assessment, including a walkover survey, for the proposed redevelopment focused on the former Bus Depot, Longman Road, Inverness was carried out by Rubicon Heritage in 2016. The desk based assessment identified nine known cultural heritage assets. These range from a Neolithic findspot to a pillbox utilised on a RAF airfield in operation during the Second World War. There were no cultural heritage assets located within the proposed development site. There is no direct impact on any other cultural heritage assets. It was concluded that the character and low concentration of known cultural heritage assets and developed nature of the proposed development site makes it unlikely that unknown sub‐surface archaeological remains survive within the proposed development area. <1>
