Description

An archaeological watching brief and single trench evaluation were carried out by AOC Archaeology Group in 2019 at Meig, Strathconon, in advance of the construction of a new access track and woodland planting scheme. Two archaeological features were identified, one of which was located in the evaluation trench. The remains of a probable field drain were uncovered in the area for the access track. A circular pit was uncovered in an evaluation trench investigating the site of a possible cropmark enclosing the historical location of a burial ground. This area has been buffered so would therefore not be planted with trees. <1>
