Description
An archaeological 7% trial trenching evaluation was carried out by AOC Archaeology Group in 2019 in advance of a housing development on land to the south of Culduthel Smithy in Inverness. During the evaluation no archaeological remains were uncovered. The development site had been heavily disturbed by quarrying and agricultural activity, which had caused significant variation in topsoil depth. This may have contributed to the absence of archaeological remains on the site. <1>
