Date

Description

An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by AOC Archaeology Group in 2018 during ground investigation works on land between the MacKinnon Memorial Hospital and the Broadford Medical Centre on the east side of High Road / An Rathad Ard, Broadford, Isle of Skye in relation to the construction of a new community hospital. The watching brief was required as part of a planning requirement as the site is situated within an area of known archaeology. The excavation of ten test pits and two soakaway pits, together with access tracks to borehole locations, were watched by an archaeologist during the ground investigation works. No archaeological features other than stone-filled field drains were uncovered. <1>
