EHG5573 - Walkover survey - New road, Craggie Forest

Technique(s)

Organisation

Nick Lindsay

Date

May 2017

Description

An archaeological desk-based study and walkover survey of part of Craggie Forest, near Lairg, Sutherland, was undertaken by N Lindsay in 2017. The survey was required by Brook Forestry Ltd in order to establish the extent of archaeological remains along the proposed route of a new forest track. The survey resulted in the discovery of 19 archaeological features/sites, which were recorded in detail, but are covered as a non-detailed group on the Highland Council’s Historic Environment Record. The route of the proposed track will avoid all of the identified archaeology, except for one small clearance cairn. <1>
