Description
A desk-based evaluation and rapid walk-over survey were carried out by C Dagg in 2021 in advance of a proposed forestry scheme on the Attadale Estate, on the south side of Loch Carron, Lochbroom. The purpose of the survey was to identify all archaeological features within or adjacent to the planting area and offers proposals for mitigation to protect the archaeological record, in accordance with Forestry Commission Scotland’s guidelines on best practice for Forests and Historic Environment. Thirteen archaeological features were recorded, over half of which were dykes or boundaries. Recommendations were made to safeguard the features during planting. <1>
