Technique(s)

Organisation

AOC Archaeology Group

Date

Nov 2020

Description

A trial trenching evaluation was carried out by AOC Archaeology Group in 2020 prior to the construction of new homes and associated works in Beauly, Highland. The evaluation was required because the development site is located in an area of rich archaeological potential and follows on from a partial evaluation carried out on the site in 2010 (see EHG3202). Fieldwork was carried out from 17th to 18th November 2020, where ten trenches were excavated. No archaeological features were present in any of the trenches. Three small rubble-filled field drains were identified. No further archaeological work is recommended. <1>
