Technique(s)

Organisation

AOC Archaeology Group

Date

Feb 2020

Description

An archaeological watching brief was carried out by AOC Archaeology Group in 2020 on land 450m northeast of 1 Manse Brae Cottages, Croy, Highland in advance of the construction of a new house. The watching brief was required due to the archaeological potential of the site, which lies within an area rich in archaeological remains spanning from the prehistoric to post-medieval periods. Monitoring of the excavation of the access road bell-mouth and part of the house plot was carried out with no archaeological features identified. Should the project resume, further watching brief on any new areas of ground-breaking will be required. <1>
