EHG5736 - Watching brief - Ground investigation works, Beauly Substation

Technique(s)

Organisation

AOC Archaeology Group

Date

Nov 2021

Description

An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by AOC Archaeology Group in 2021 during geotechnical investigations, at land adjacent to Beauly Substation, Highland, ahead of proposed cable undergrounding works. The watching brief monitored the excavation of 5 geotechnical test pits, 1 borehole service pit, and an Intrusive Foundation Inspection (IFI) pit at the base of an electrical tower. No archaeological features, deposits, or artefactual material were identified. Due to the remaining potential for archaeological resource(s) in the area, it is proposed any further ground-breaking works in these locations also be monitored. <1>
