Description

A watching brief was undertaken by Highland Archaeology Services in 2021 in advance of a new residential development at Torbreck near Inverness. The development work included the formation of a new access track and clearance of a new building plot. The project was undertaken in accordance with a condition attached to planning consent (20/02392/FUL). Three features were recorded during the course of the works: a degraded wall, an area of deposited stones and a possible pit. The only artefacts recovered from across the site were modern ceramics, glass and a piece of corroded iron. None of the deposits, features or finds revealed during the course of the project are considered to be archaeologically significant and no further archaeological site work or reporting is recommended. <1>
