Date

Description

An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by Highland Archaeology Services in 2022 at a site near Forss, Caithness, during topsoil stripping for a small development of camping pods at Braigh-Mor farm. This was in order to fulfil a planning condition. There was no previous record for archaeological features or finds within the site, but the wider area is considered to have high archaeological potential. The development site was agricultural grazing land. All topsoil stripping was completed for the pods access and parking areas, the septic tank and soakaway. Several drains were noted, but no features of archaeological interest. No artefacts were encountered during the watching brief. No further archaeological work is recommended due to the negative results of this work. <1>
