Description

A full archaeologiacal excavation of the site of a funerary kerb-cairn dating to the prehistoric period was carried out in advance of the upgrading of the A830 Arissaig to Kinsadel Trunk road by Headland Archaeology in 2001. The remains of two burials were identified. One comprised a robbed out cist, while the other comprised a concentration of burnt bone amongst the basal layer of stones of the cairn. <1> SAIR publication on the work at the site. <2> The excavation assemblage was submitted to Treasure Trove (TT 113/05) and allocated to Inverness Museum. <3> <4>
