Description

A watching brief was carried out by N Lindsay in 2021 on a controlled topsoil strip on land 105m SE of Glencoe, Gruids, in the parish of Lairg, Sutherland inadvance of the erction of a new house. It was required as a condition of Planning in order to establish the extent of archaeological remains on the site. The survey area comprises the proposed site of a dwelling house and an access track. Gruids is a scattered crofting township situated approximately 3km to the south-south-west of the village of Lairg, in central Sutherland. No features/finds of any archaeological significance were discovered during the fieldwork. <1>
