Description
A desk-based assessment was carried out by AOC Archaeology Group in 2021 in order to inform an Environmental Impact Assessment for a proposed extension to the Bhlaraidh Wind Farm. The study primarily focused on the potential for settings effects on heritage assets resulting from the operation of the Proposed Development. Assessment for the potential for direct effects upon archaeological remains during the construction phase was scoped out (see EHG4495 for details of the original 2012 Bhlaraidh Wind Farm EIA). Potential operational effects on the settings of designated heritage assets within the 5km and 10km Study Areas and Urquhart Castle within 15km of the Site have been considered in detail as part of this assessment. No significant effects have been predicted upon the setting of such assets. Site visits were made to designated heritage assets on 15th – 17th September 2020. <1>
