Description

An archaeological evaluation was carried out by GUARD Archaeology Limited in 202, on behalf of Lochlash & Skye Housing Association, in support of a proposed development at the Garden Site, Armadale, Isle of Skye. A series of five trenches, each measuring 50 m in length by 2m in width were excavated by machine. An additional two trenches measuring 2m long by 2m wide were to be dug on the 43m of drainage lines outwith the site, however, access was not available and therefore, these test pits could not be carried out at the time of the evaluation. All proposed trenches amount to 476m², or 7% of the 0.68 ha development area. The archaeological work revealed modern field drains throughout. No features or artefacts of archaeological significance were encountered. <1>
