Description
An archaeological trial trenching evaluation was undertaken by AOC Archaeology in 2021 on a parcel of land approximately one mile to the southeast of Auldearn along the C1171 ahead of a proposed new house development that will include a house plot and associated infrastructure. The evaluation comprised the initial excavation of 8 trenches equal to 293m², along with an additional area stripped between Trenches 2 and 7. The evaluation uncovered 9 undated features consisting of five pits, one stakehole and three furrows. <1>
