Technique(s)
Organisation
AOC Archaeology Group
Date
Sept-Oct 2019
Description
An archaeological walkover survey was undertaken by AOC Archaeology Group in 2019 at Scallasaig Stock Club, Glenelg, in advance of a woodland planting scheme. The survey was required in order to assess and record the nature and extent of any upstanding archaeology affected by the proposed development. A total of twenty-nine sites were recorded, comprising mainly post-medieval shielings and settlement remains. Buffer zones around the sites were recommended to avoid any impact or damage to the sites. <1>
