EHG5934 - Walkover survey - proposed wind farm, Hill of Forss (Cairnmore)
Technique(s)
Organisation
CFA Archaeology Ltd
Date
2014
Description
A walkover survey was undertaken by CFA Archaeology in 2014 of the area of a proposed wind farm at Hill of Forss (Cairnmore) to the west of Thrumster to inform the cultural heritage chapter of an intended Environmental Statement (ES). <1>
The site boundary was subsequently extended and a further walk-over field survey of the whole of the now proposed developable area within the Inner Study Area was undertaken in 2016 (see EHG5935). <2>
NOTE: Although what the 2014 survey area actually was is not illustrated in the eventual ES from 2020 (<1>), it is referred to in that document as "…the northernmost part of the site…". The likely area is, however, shown in Figure 3.2 of the 'Layout Design Evolution' section of a subsequent and amended ES document from 2022 (<2>) as the "Hill of Forss Site Boundary 2013".
