EHG5953 - Trial trenching - new housing, South Argo Terrace, Golspie
Technique(s)
Organisation
AOC Archaeology Group
Date
Nov 2022
Description
An archaeological trial trenching evaluation was carried out by AOC Archaeology Group in 2022 prior to the construction of 17 houses at land by South Argo Terrace, Golspie. The evaluation was required because the development site is located in an area with potential for the survival of buried archaeological deposits. Fieldwork was carried out from 28th to 30th November 2022, where eleven trenches were excavated. Possible levelling deposits were identified in trenches at the southwest end of the site, and possible construction deposits towards west. No significant archaeological features were present in any of the trenches. No further archaeological work is recommended. <1>
