Date

Description

An archaeological desk-based assessment and walkover survey were undertaken by AOC Archaeology Group in 2023 in advance of construction of new maturation warehouses at Tomatin Distillery, Tomatin, near Inverness. The aim of the survey was to record the location, extent, and condition of any archaeological sites to provide baseline data in advance of the proposed development and make recommendations on any further fieldwork or mitigation. Although no upstanding archaeological features were identified, the DBA indicated that the wider area contains both prehistoric and later post-medieval remains. Recommendations for mitigation were made. <1>
