Date

Jan-Feb 2023

Description

An archaeological trial trenching evaluation was carried out by AOC Archaeology Group in 2023 prior to the construction of a new retail unit with associated infrastructure at Gairloch, Highland. The requirement arose as the development site has the potential for buried archaeology. Fieldwork was carried out on 31st January and 1st February 2023, where ten trenches, each measuring 20m in length, were excavated. No archaeological features were present in any of the trenches. No further archaeological work was recommended. <1>
