Date
May 2021
Description
Archaeological works were undertaken by AOC Archaeology Group in 2021 in relation to the discovery of human remains during wall improvement works near Loch Eriboll, Sutherland. The remains were located on a slope overlooking Kempie Bay to the North. The remains were reported to Historic Environment Scotland (HES) and AOC Archaeology Group was subsequently commissioned to investigate the remains under the teams of the Human Remains Call-off Contract. The work consisted of the retrieval of the exposed human remains, and an investigation of any possible parent features relating to the remains. A walkover survey of the area surrounding the findspot identified several additional possible archaeological features. <1>
