Description

A watching brief was undertaken by Highland Archaeology Services in 2020 during the excavation of 5 Ground Investigation test pits in advance of proposals for construction of a new house at Castle Street, Dornoch. The test pits were excavated with a small back-acting excavator fitted with a flat-bladed bucket. The weather was overcast but dry and visibility was good. The GI pits were excavated to a depth of between 1m and 1.8m. No cultural material was recovered. <1>
