Description

An archaeological desktop and walkover survey was undertaken by S Farrell in 2022 for two areas of proposed forestry in Strath Kildonan on the Suisgill Estate. The areas of proposed forestry are of a total of 57 hectares on a predominantly west-facing slopes situated on the east side of Strath Kildonan with the ground rising to c.180m above sea-level. The survey revealed a number of unrecorded archaeological sites of hut circles, a burial cairn, a shieling, a field wall and some clearance cairns. A number of recommendations have been made in relation to the proposed schemes. <1>
