EHG6099 - Walkover survey - proposed wind turbine, Hill of Lybster

Technique(s)

Organisation

David Lynn

Date

March 2023

Description

A walkover survey was undertaken by D Lynn in 2023 at Hill of Lybster near Thurso in advance of proposals for the erection of a single wind turbine along with associated crane hardstanding, site access road and electricity control building. As anticipated, the footprint itself was completely empty of any surface indication of archaeological presence, and the general context within the footprint (shallow field grazing topsoil above sandstone bedrock) did not suggest much potential to conceal archaeological material. <1>
