EHG6177 - DBA and walkover survey - proposed battery storage facility, Contullich, Alness

An archaeological desk-based assessment and walkover survey were undertaken by SLR Consulting in 2023 in relation to a proposed battery storage facility located on land to the east of Struie Road, Contullich. When the assessment was originally produced, a larger Original Land Under Option area was considered, that encompassed the current Site and fields to the south. This has been refined and updated to the current Site, and the subsequent report was updated to reflect that. The site and larger Original Land Under Option area was walked over, as much as was possible given vegetation, and photographs and field notes were taken. The assessment identified a low potential for unknown archaeological remains to exist within the footprint of the development. Any such remains were considered likely to be of local significance. <1>
