Date

Description

An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by AOC Archaeology Group in 2024 in advance of works relating to the refurbishment of Bught Park, Inverness. Three areas were monitored and twenty-three archaeological features were identified during the work. The features comprised postholes and pits, some forming linear and curvilinear alignments. One alignment of postholes appeared to correspond with a 1960s structure associated with the shinty pavilion. Other feature groups were interpreted as severely truncated remains of prehistoric structures and pits and some much later c.C19th/C20th activity predating the use of the playing fields. <1>
