Description

An archaeological watching brief was carried out by AOC Archaeology Group in 2021 at Scaniport, Inverness, in advance of the construction of an access road. A previous archaeological evaluation phase undertaken in 2018 (see EHG5169) had revealed the presence of prehistoric archaeological remains within the development area, with potential for further remains. The first phase of monitoring was carried out from 11th to 12th January 2021 and comprised a watching brief during the excavation of a new access road during which no archaeological features were recorded. <1> The second phase of watching brief was carried out in 2024 (see EHG6181).
