Description

An archaeological watching brief was carried out by AOC Archaeology Group in 2024 at Fraser House, Friars Lane, Inverness prior to the installation of cables associated with a new substation. The excavations consisted of excavation of a trench from the substation into the road to allow connection with existing electricity cables. A smaller trench was excavated on the northwest side of the substation as part of the earthing design. Multiple services were identified within the excavated area and no undisturbed archaeological deposits were found. No further excavations are required as part of the development and no further work is recommended. <1>
