Description

An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by Stuart Farrell in 2023 on land at Chapelton, Balloch, Inverness as part of a project for 31 houses and associated access. Work revealed three archaeological features or deposits comprising of a possible hearth/dump of hearth material and two pits, another possible feature was deemed to be a stone hole. Post-excavation work revealed a C14 date of an Iron Age date of 76-49 BC for one of the features. No recommendations for further archaeological work are proposed. <1> NOTE: NGR eastings on the survey plan in the report are out by 20m.
