Organisation

Janet Hooper

Date

July 2001

Description

An archaeological desk based assessment and walkover survey was carried out by J Hooper in August 2001 in advance of a proposed windfarm at Buolfruich, Houstry. There were no known sites within the proposed area on the Highland SMR or the NMRS. Seven new sites were identified during the walkover survey including: a house or steading, sheepfolds, cultivation remains, trackways, field walls and a quarry. However, the survey was undertaken in the height of summer when vegetation was at its highest and so a thorough it was difficult to examine the ground surface closely. <1> Note: This information can be found in section C6 of the environmental impact statement.
