Date

Description

An archaeological watching brief on initial ground investigation (GI) works was undertaken by Highland Archaeology Services in 2024 in advance of the development of a proposed new battery storage facility at Knocknagael, South of Inverness. This was carried out pre-planning in line with best practice. The watching brief took place between February 12th and February 14th 2024 in dry and mainly sunny but cold conditions. Twenty-two GI test pits and one soakaway pit were excavated. No archaeological features were encountered. As such no further post-excavation archaeological work was recommended for the GI phase of the project. <1>
