Date
Sept 2021
Description
An archaeological walkover survey was undertaken by AOC Archaeology Group in 2021 in advance of a the proposed Dounreay 33kV 7L5 and 8L5 Rebuild project. This consisted of the dismantling of existing overhead power lines (OHL) and the installation of new overhead lines and select underground cables on two 33kV circuits between Lybster (Dounreay) and Melvich, Caithness. The survey was carried out in September 2021 in order to inform mitigation recommendations. This enabled the location recording of any previously unknown upstanding archaeological sites in advance of the work, in order to make recommendations for demarcation (or further mitigation) if required. <1>
